Knowledge-based approaches for countering Cyber and Technology Facilitated Gender-based violence against women
Cyber and technology facilitated domestic violence (CTFDV) is not well accounted for in Bulgarian legislation, while academic and research evidence does not always adequately address the specificities of its manifestations in Bulgarian society.
“Invisible data” aims to fill the gaps in research, civil society, and public spaces and lay the foundations for the identification and countering of CTFDV.
Objectives
Expanding the capacity of the civil society sector to understand CTFDV;
Providing tools for data collection on CTFDV;
Improving the skills of the civil society sector to effectively communicate about CTFDV among the general public;
Putting forward recommendations for amendments in Bulgarian legislation relevant to CTFDV and the implementation of Directive (EU) 2024/1385.
Results
Systematised CTFDV indicators targeted at organisations that work to counter domestic violence;
Guide for using the CTFDV indicators in practice, based on pilot implementation in three places in Bulgaria (Burgas, Haskovo/Dimitrovgrad, and Sofia);
Recommendations for policymakers, based on the data collected over the course of the project;
Foundational, open-to-the-public CTFDV database.
